Truck Driver Trainer | Oakland, CA

About the role

We are seeking experienced and passionate drivers to serve as training mentors for our new trainee drivers. This role offers the opportunity to earn up to $120,000 annually, with compensation based on both your miles driven and those of your students.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor new drivers
• Drive safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
• Manage and motivate trainee drivers

Requirements

• Minimum of 60,000 miles solo driving experience within the last year
• At least 21 years old and hold a valid Class A commercial driver's license
• No more than 1 preventable accident in the past 2 years, no major accident within 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• No more than 1 moving violation in the last year
• No more than 1 preventable incident/accident in the last year

Qualifications

• Minimum of 30 days with Knight
• 6 months of Class A driving experience within the last 5 years

Skills

• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Effective problem-solving abilities
• Experience with DOT regulations

Pay

Trainers are compensated for both their miles and their student’s miles, potentially earning up to $120,000 annually.

Schedule

Trainers are required to run a minimum of 2 weeks at a time, with additional opportunities to work across 27 terminals nationwide.
