Travel Registered Nurse Adolescent Behavioral Health Inpatient Job

• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (0700–1930)
• Work setting: Inpatient adolescent behavioral health unit within a short-term acute care environment
• Travel assignment for a licensed RN with relevant psychiatric experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for adolescents on an inpatient behavioral health unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor responses, and manage potential side effects
• Maintain patient safety through observation, de-escalation using CPI techniques, and adherence to safety protocols
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform routine and focused assessments, monitor vital signs, and document in the electronic medical record; participate in rounds and handoffs
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; educate patients and families about treatment plans and safety planning

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
• Minimum 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience; at least 2 years of travel nursing experience
• Experience with adolescent inpatient behavioral health; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
• Willingness to travel and start on or before 07/20/2026; eligible to work in the United States
