Registered Nurse - Adolescent Behavioral Health
Inpatient Saint Helena, California, United States
Start date: 08/17/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Weekly pay: $1,847–$1,906 per week
Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
Shift: 3x12-hour days
Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with inpatient adolescent behavioral health units

Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a defined group of adolescent patients using the nursing process and established standards
  • Assess, document, and monitor patient conditions; develop and implement a plan of care; coordinate care with the treatment team
  • Administer medications and treatments per policy; monitor for adverse effects; respond to crises with appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and multidisciplinary team members; supervise and direct nursing staff as assigned; ensure a safe, healing environment
  • Support discharge planning, patient and family education, and continuity of care; participate in transition planning and follow-up as appropriate
  • Work across two behavioral health units, partnering with Mental Health Technicians; participate in call coverage as needed

Requirements

  • California Registered Nurse (RN) license, active
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider
  • Relevant certifications: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A; ACLS and PALS (AHA or ARC) required
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; 2+ years of recent experience in behavioral health inpatient or acute care settings
