About the role
The PICU RN provides advanced, specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Implement complex care plans
- Administer treatments and operate advanced medical equipment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
- Explain procedures to patients and families
- Monitor vital signs and respond to life-threatening situations
- Initiate patient education
- Document assessments
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
Requirements
- At least one year of recent PICU experience
- Valid RN license
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- CCRN certification
