About the Role

The Travel PICU RN provides advanced critical care to pediatric patients in high-acuity settings, including infants, children, and adolescents. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients and families, providing emotional support
• Administer medications and treatments following pediatric protocols
• Operate advanced medical devices like ventilators and monitors
• Monitor patient conditions, record findings, and notify physicians of critical changes
• Respond effectively to emergency and life-threatening situations
• Educate patients and families based on individual needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Implement complex care plans and perform patient assessments
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

• At least one year of recent PICU RN experience
• Valid RN license
• Current BLS and PALS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• CCRN certification
