About the Role
The Travel OR Charge Nurse oversees operating room operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments for the OR team.
- Supervise, coach, and support staff development and performance.
- Assist with performance management and HR activities.
- Monitor supplies, equipment, and department readiness.
- Coordinate surgical services, patient flow, and care transitions.
- Address patient care concerns and escalate issues appropriately.
- Conduct patient and family rounds to enhance patient experience.
- Provide direct patient care as needed to maintain standards.
Requirements
- Current, valid RN license and BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care or ED setting.
- Previous supervisory experience (1-2 years) in surgical OR in acute care.
- Competency in Sedation Monitoring.
