About the Role

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients' responses to health problems. Responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, ensuring coordination with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Performs multi-system evaluations, monitors deviations, and reassesses throughout hospitalization.
  • Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge, delegates tasks appropriately, and prioritizes patient needs.
  • Initiates protocols, administers medications, performs procedures, documents accurately, and responds to emergencies.
  • Assesses effectiveness of care, response to treatment, and participates in quality activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience, with one year in ED or completion of ED internship.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • RN license (Oregon), BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
  • Pediatric courses (ENPC or PALS) within six months of hire.
  • Computer proficiency and emergency pediatric care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Certifications such as CEN or TNCC.
  • Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias.
  • Effective communication and adherence to professional standards.
