Temporary Emergency Department RN (36Hr, Night Shift)

About the Role

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to health problems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and reevaluates throughout hospitalization, including discharge planning.
  • Develops individualized care plans, delegates tasks appropriately, and coordinates care and discharge planning with departments and community agencies.
  • Initiates protocol-based measures, accurately documents care, administers medications, and performs procedures correctly, including emergency responses.
  • Assesses effectiveness of care, patient responses, and participates in quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience with at least one year in emergency departments or completion of a specialized internship.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid RN license and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale within specified timeframes.
  • Computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience and a bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • Certifications like CEN or TNCC.
  • Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
