About the Role
Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to health problems.
Responsibilities
- Performs multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and reevaluates throughout hospitalization, including discharge planning.
- Develops individualized care plans, delegates tasks appropriately, and coordinates care and discharge planning with departments and community agencies.
- Initiates protocol-based measures, accurately documents care, administers medications, and performs procedures correctly, including emergency responses.
- Assesses effectiveness of care, patient responses, and participates in quality assurance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum nine months of RN experience with at least one year in emergency departments or completion of a specialized internship.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid RN license and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale within specified timeframes.
- Computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience and a bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Certifications like CEN or TNCC.
- Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
