Role Summary

The registered nurse (RN) collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, focusing on diagnosing and treating responses to health problems.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments
  • Developing individualized care plans
  • Coordinating care activities
  • Administering medications
  • Documenting care accurately
  • Participating in quality assurance activities and emergency situations, ensuring protocols and policies are followed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience, with at least one year in the emergency department or completion of a related internship program
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid RN license
  • Certifications required within specified timeframes: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale, Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course
  • Proficiency in computer skills and emergency procedures

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous healthcare experience and a bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
  • Certifications such as CEN and TNCC, with the ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional standards adherence
