Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive multi-system assessments, monitors deviations, and performs discharge evaluations.
- Develops individualized nursing care and teaching plans, coordinates care and discharge, delegates tasks appropriately, and prioritizes patient needs.
- Initiates protocols, administers medications accurately, performs procedures, documents care in EMR, and responds effectively to emergencies.
- Reviews assessment methods, care plans, and patient responses, participating in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of nine months RN experience; one year ED experience or completion of a nursing internship in ED.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid RN license; certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS or equivalent, NIH Stroke Scale, and relevant pediatric courses.
- Computer skills required.
Preferred Skills
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Certifications such as CEN and TNCC.
- Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
