Temporary Emergency Department RN (36-Hour, Night Shift)

Role Overview

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients' health responses. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while coordinating activities across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment: Conducts thorough multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental factors, identifying deviations and performing discharge assessments.
• Planning: Develops individualized care plans, prioritizes patient needs, delegates care appropriately, and coordinates discharge and teaching plans with relevant departments.
• Implementation: Executes protocols for medical or surgical management, administers medications accurately, documents care in EMR, and responds effectively to emergencies.
• Evaluation: Assesses effectiveness of care, patient responses, and participates in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum nine months of RN experience and current ED experience or successful completion of a nurse internship in ED.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS or Pediatric Emergency Course, NIH Stroke Scale, within specified timeframes.
• Strong computer skills and ability to interpret cardiac rhythms preferred.

Additional Qualifications

• Prior healthcare experience, BSN or related degree, and certifications such as CEN or TNCC are preferred.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills are also valued.
