About the role

Provides nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patients' responses to health problems. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as coordinating activities with other disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Conducts comprehensive multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and performs discharge assessments.
  • Planning: Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge planning, delegates activities appropriately, and prioritizes patient needs.
  • Implementation: Initiates protocol-based measures, administers medications accurately, performs procedures correctly, documents care, and utilizes multidisciplinary approaches, including emergency response when needed.
  • Evaluation: Assesses effectiveness of care, response to treatment, and participates in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience; one year of current ED experience or completion of a new grad internship in the ED.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications: RN license (Oregon), Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NIH Stroke Scale, Pediatric courses or PALS within six months.
  • Computer skills required.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience; Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Certifications such as CEN or TNCC preferred.
  • Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills preferred.
