Temp, PT Science Tutor
Job Responsibilities
The tutor is primarily responsible for encouraging self-directed learning and development in each student. To do this, a tutor assists students to understand their coursework. This may require the tutor to help clarify a concept or give a clear explanation of an assignment. The tutor is not expected to know how to answer every possible question, but rather to work to ensure that the student develops a firm foundation to take learning to the next level.
Science Tutors Specific Duties
- Visit classes at the start of each semester to introduce themselves and make students aware of tutoring resources.
- Attend science classes or other college events to promote tutoring services.
- Coordinate and present science workshops to assist just in time learning.
- Additional tasks may also be assigned by the director.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- Degree in the field.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching/tutoring a plus.
Additional Comments
Tutors must also be willing to submit to a background check. The ability to relate well to people, to self-start and to adjust easily to a variety of learning styles is beneficial.

Pay is based on degree level*
