Job Responsibilities
The tutor is primarily responsible for encouraging self-directed learning and development in each student. This may involve:
- Assisting students to understand their coursework.
- Clarifying concepts or giving clear explanations of assignments.
- Ensuring students develop a firm foundation for further learning.
- Visiting classes at the start of each semester to introduce themselves and promote tutoring resources.
- Attending math classes or other college events to promote tutoring services.
- Coordinating and presenting workshops to assist with just-in-time learning.
- Completing additional tasks assigned by the director.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A degree in mathematics.
- Prior experience teaching/tutoring is preferred.
Additional Comments
We seek individuals with a strong sense of personal responsibility and who are self-starters. They should be compassionate yet able to set healthy boundaries. Work hours may vary based on the semester.
