Job Responsibilities

The tutor is primarily responsible for encouraging self-directed learning and development in each student. This may involve:

  • Assisting students to understand their coursework.
  • Clarifying concepts or giving clear explanations of assignments.
  • Ensuring students develop a firm foundation for further learning.
  • Visiting classes at the start of each semester to introduce themselves and promote tutoring resources.
  • Attending math classes or other college events to promote tutoring services.
  • Coordinating and presenting workshops to assist with just-in-time learning.
  • Completing additional tasks assigned by the director.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A degree in mathematics.
  • Prior experience teaching/tutoring is preferred.

We seek individuals with a strong sense of personal responsibility and who are self-starters. They should be compassionate yet able to set healthy boundaries. Work hours may vary based on the semester.
