Temp, PT Science Tutor

Job Responsibilities

The tutor is primarily responsible for encouraging self-directed learning and development in each student. This includes assisting students to understand their coursework by helping clarify concepts or providing clear explanations of assignments. The tutor is not expected to know every possible answer but works to ensure students develop a strong foundation for further learning.

Science Tutors Specific Duties

• Visit classes at the start of each semester to introduce themselves and inform students about tutoring resources.
• Attend science classes or other college events to promote tutoring services.
• Coordinate and present science workshops to support just-in-time learning.
• Additional tasks may be assigned by the director.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• Degree in the field.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching/tutoring is a plus.

Additional Comments

Tutors must also be willing to submit to a background check. The ability to relate well to people, to self-start, and to adjust to various learning styles is beneficial.

Pay

Pay is based on degree level.
