Telecommunications Technician - DoD

INNOVIM Defense Services is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to support North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

This is an on-site position requiring a Top Secret/SCI clearance and shift work to support 24×7 operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, install, and perform maintenance of associated networks and end-user equipment/peripherals.
• Respond to user requests for assistance, perform diagnostic evaluations, implement corrections, and train users in proper equipment/network operations.
• Provide 24/7 maintenance support, including modification and installation of network, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M/KG-175), and secure communications peripherals.
• Complete upgrades to platforms, train staff, and maintain daily logs.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and update networks/equipment as needed.
• Maintain the ticketing system for network/system trouble tickets.
• Route calls, transfer information, and handle administrative duties such as typing, checking, and recording information.
• Oversee the order and replacement of new hardware and software, including warranty claims.
• Provide server, workstation, and system expertise, including on-site and off-site travel within the complex.
• Assist in the development and implementation of system documentation and operating procedures.
• Research, select, and install new network/switching equipment, including hardware and software.

Requirements

• Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance.
• 6 months or more of directly related experience.
• 1 year or more of general work experience.
• IAT Level II Certification (one of the following: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).

Desired Qualifications

• Digital Switching Systems - 2A Certification.
• Knowledge of Telecommunications Secure Voice Switched Network switch management/maintenance.
• Experience as a Secure Voice Responsible Officer or Telecommunications Control Officer.
• Experience with Cryptographic/Communications Security (COMSEC) and COMSEC Responsible Officer requirements.
• Operations planning and management in a real-time support environment.
• Ability to prepare, review, and deliver technical presentations.
• Experience with technical knowledge capturing, training, and certification of personnel.
• Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers at high levels.
• 1 year of experience with modification and installation of secure Telecommunications Secure Voice Switched Network, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M/KG-175), and end-user peripherals.
• Commercial Public Base eXchange and telephone switch experience.
• Experience assisting with conferencing.

Pay

$75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and certifications directly related to the position.
