Role
The mission
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it remains a leading cause of death for women across Africa, largely because screening doesn't reach them in time. MedNTech is a nonprofit working to change that: we build an AI-assisted smartphone tool that helps health workers screen for cervical cancer in low-connectivity settings.
Role Description
The role
Our small technical team of engineers and volunteers moves fast, and we need someone who keeps the machine organized so they can focus on building. You'd be the person who makes sure everything is where it should be, documented, and done right.
What you'd do
- Keep our Notion workspace structured: documentation, meeting notes, project trackers, onboarding guides
- Maintain GitHub hygiene: repos organized, access lists current, contributions properly tracked
- Track that every volunteer has signed our confidentiality agreement and completed onboarding
- Make sure our data protection rules are being followed, and flag gaps (you won't handle patient data yourself; this role is about upholding the process)
- Keep recurring meetings, notes, and follow-ups running on schedule
Who you are
- Tech-literate: comfortable with GitHub (repos, branches, pull requests, permissions) and able to follow a technical team's work
- Organized to a fault: you like structure, documentation, and things being findable
- Reliable and self-directed: this role is about consistency, a few hours every week
- Discreet and process-minded: we work in health, so confidentiality and rigor matter
Why you'll want this
- A real operational role inside a live, deployed health-AI project
- Experience running the operations of a technical nonprofit, a genuine CV line
- A small, mission-driven team where your hours visibly matter
Commitment
Remote, about 3 to 5 hours a week, ideally 6 months or more. If you want to make change happen, apply to volunteer with MednTech now!
