About the role

This position will report to the Dominguez unit or the Division Austin Headquarters on a daily basis, assisting other Assistant Regional Directors during times of leave or vacancy and providing oversight of pre-release reentry employment efforts, special population services, and critical operational quality assurance monitoring.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day functions include facilitating pre-release employment events, connecting with employers, workforce development councils, and business associations to build relationships and recruit support for statewide initiatives to employ the returning population immediately upon release. This position also serves to oversee special projects and pilots within the reentry sphere, such as operations within Reentry Dormitories, grant or pilot project supervision, and innovation in the reentry field.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of work experience or a bachelor's degree and 1 year of work experience
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with large-scale employers, within employment recruitment efforts, or criminal justice reentry planning

Qualifications

  • Experience as a supervisor of employees
  • Experience in launching pilot programs and monitoring for outcomes
  • Experience in connecting people with employment opportunities or developing large-scale platforms that facilitate a workforce pipeline to a range of employers seeking applicants

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and recruit support from employers, workforce development councils, and business associations.
