TDCJ - Industrial Specialist III - Computer Recove

About the role
This position reports to the Wynne Computer Recovery Facility located at the Wynne Unit on a daily basis. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Duties include direct contact with incarcerated inmates, assisting the Industrial Specialist IV - Production Supervisor in the direct supervision of incarcerated inmates sorting computer-related equipment into scrap pallets or refurbishing pallets. Day-to-day functions include facility searches for contraband, pat searching inmates prior to rostering them out of the building for work detail, assisting in overseeing the sorting process, and strip searching the inmates at the end of the day prior to turning them back into the building. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Supervise incarcerated inmates sorting computer-related equipment into scrap or refurbishing pallets
- Conduct facility searches for contraband
- Perform pat searches on inmates prior to work detail
- Oversee the sorting process
- Conduct strip searches on inmates at the end of the day
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent GED
- Detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong understanding of production environments
- Desire to positively coach incarcerated individuals through production goals
- Outside applicants will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM

- No travel required; position may make day trips but no overnight trips
