About the role

This position reports daily to the Ellis Bus Repair Facility. You will oversee inmate work on assigned tasks, ensure both the quality and quantity of finished products, and maintain machinery and equipment. You will provide job-safety training to inmates, maintain the security of tools, machinery, and equipment, and prepare reports and other related documentation.

Requirements

• One year of full-time automotive repair experience or two years of full-time experience in any production or manufacturing operation
• Correctional or law enforcement experience
• Solid knowledge of methods, procedures, and problem-solving techniques used in automotive repair
• Experience applying quality-control standards and understanding workflow in a manufacturing environment
• Clear communication skills to explain ideas and instructions to staff, administration, and workers
• Welding certifications or related credentials (a plus)
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship or financial assistance
• Outside applicants must submit to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment

• Pre-Service Training Academy required
• Hazardous Duty/Longevity position (Hazardous Duty)
• No travel required (may include day trips, but no overnight trips)
• Work site visits required
• No study material provided
