Surgical Tech Student Intern

About the role

The Surgical Tech Student Intern is a temporary role enabling surgical technology students to gain practical experience in surgical areas. This position involves working alongside a Certified Surgical Tech and performing both direct and indirect patient care under supervision from Registered Nurses (RN) and/or Physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures and patient care activities.
• Support surgical team members in sterile techniques and equipment handling.
• Collaborate with licensed staff to ensure safe patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• Experience is not required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; must be obtained within ninety (90) days of start date.
