Surgical Tech Student Intern

About the role

The Surgical Tech Student Intern is a temporary role designed for students in surgical technology programs to gain hands-on experience in surgical areas. Under supervision from a Certified Surgical Tech, Registered Nurse, and/or Physician, interns may perform both direct and indirect patient care activities. The position emphasizes learning and practicing surgical procedures within a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures and patient care activities under supervision
• Support surgical team during operations, ensuring proper setup and sterile techniques
• Learn and perform tasks related to surgical instrumentation and patient safety
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient outcomes

Qualifications And Skills

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Enrollment in an accredited Surgical Tech program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of start date
