Surgical Tech Student Intern

About the role

The Surgical Tech Student Intern is a temporary role designed for surgical technology students to gain hands-on experience in surgical areas. They are co-assigned with a Certified Surgical Tech and may assist in direct and indirect patient care under supervision from Registered Nurses (RN) and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures and patient care activities as directed.
• Support surgical team during operations, maintaining sterile techniques.
• Learn and apply surgical tech skills in a clinical setting under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; enrolled in an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• Experience: None required.
• Certification/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within ninety (90) days of start.
