SUPERVISING PROGRAM TECHNICIAN III
About the role
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) seeks a Supervising Program Technician III with experience in providing guidance and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations. This position involves supervising Program Technician IIs and IIIs, monitoring the Licensing Hotline, responding to inquiries, and assisting with rule interpretations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Program Technician IIs and IIIs to ensure proper procedures, rules, and regulations are followed during the processing of license applications, renewals, and other licensing documents.
- Maintain oversight of the Licensing Hotline and production email queues.
- Respond to licensing inquiries via telephone, chat, and email, and handle escalated inquiries.
- Provide technical assistance to staff regarding the California Insurance Code and California Code of Regulations.
Requirements
This position requires passing a fingerprint-based background review. The salary range does not reflect the reduction in pay due to the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 and related Pay Differential 386. For more information, visit the CalHR website.
Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the Classification Specification. These include relevant education, experience, and certifications. A resume is optional but may be included.

Pay
