About the role

Under the general direction of the Supervising Program Technician III (SPT III), the Program Technician III (PT III) is responsible for handling a broad range of sensitive and complex contacts with the public with a high level of independence, accuracy, and good judgment. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Handle sensitive and complex public contacts with independence, accuracy, and good judgment.
  • Use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and internal databases.
  • Exercise creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution.
  • Manage time and resources effectively.
  • Respond to CAP management needs.
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position at a workstation and occasionally retrieve files.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and internal databases.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in an office setting.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control.

Pay

$4,329.00 - $5,425.00 per month.

Schedule

Full-time, 12-month limited term position. Hybrid telework arrangement.

Benefits

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period.

The Bureau of Automotive Repair's mission is to protect and serve California consumers by ensuring a fair and competitive automotive repair marketplace and administering a model motor vehicle emissions reduction program.
