SUPERVISING PROGRAM TECHNICIAN II

This position is headquartered at the Chatsworth District Office in Northwest Los Angeles County and is not eligible for telework.

About the Role

Join the California State Lottery and make an impact! We are seeking a Supervising Program Technician II to work in prize payment operations within the Finance Division. In this role, you will supervise a dedicated team in partnership with another Supervising Program Technician, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of Lottery prize payments. Your leadership will help support our mission to provide supplemental funding for California’s public schools and colleges.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train staff in prize payment processing.
• Monitor workloads and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
• Review, edit, and provide feedback on staff work.

Requirements

• Current Supervising Program Technician II exam eligibility (or ability to obtain it).
• No felony or gambling-related offense convictions (per the California State Lottery Act).
• Must clear a background investigation prior to hire.
• Must obtain access approval from the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) for the offset portal system prior to a formal job offer.

Pay

$4,375.00 - $5,482.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific bargaining units and associated excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave hours each month.

In fiscal year 2023-24, the Lottery generated over $9.2 billion in sales, with approximately $2.2 billion earned for public schools.

Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations statewide, including independent neighborhood shops, convenience stores, liquor stores, and supermarkets.
