Substation Physical Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Substation Physical Designer with 4+ years of experience to support high-voltage and medium-voltage substation projects for utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients. This role involves developing physical layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding, lightning protection, and construction drawings while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual and detailed designs for substation projects
• Develop engineering studies, quality reviews, and bills of materials
• Act as a technical lead on projects and mentor less experienced team members
• Develop proposals and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in substation physical design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Inventor
• Experience with grounding and lightning studies
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects

Qualifications

A relevant associate degree is preferred.
