Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting in employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role prepares candidates for future store management responsibilities and involves participating in daily store activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
  • Support merchandising efforts, including staging, stocking, and pricing merchandise.
  • Help manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
  • Ensure in-stock targets through proper ordering practices.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and serve as a role model for store policies and procedures.
  • Participate in store opening and closing, ensure cash security, and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Review financial statements to identify trends and control expenses.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Ability to interpret documents and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to various situations.
  • Preferred: Bilingual Spanish skills and retail experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Physical And Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional use of ladders.
  • The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise, with some outdoor conditions and limited travel required.
