Store Manager Candidate

Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in overseeing store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This position aims to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role, serving as a temporary leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation according to store standards.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure adequate stock levels and high customer service quality.
• Follow cash handling, security, and safety procedures to protect store assets.
• Support store opening and closing activities, and operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Review sales and expense data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and inventory practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, safety, and security policies.
• Preferred high school diploma; retail experience is a plus.
• Bilingual skills may be advantageous.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of merchandise equipment and occasional ladder climbing.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise; may experience weather conditions.
• Some travel required for store visits and management activities.
