Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting in employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This limited-term position prepares candidates for the Store Manager role, focusing on developing leadership skills and operational knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
  • Participate in store merchandising, stocking, and presentation according to company standards.
  • Support inventory management, including damage control, markdowns, and stock audits.
  • Ensure product availability by following proper ordering practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
  • Assist with store opening and closing, cash handling, and safeguarding company funds.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment for customers and employees.
  • Operate the store in the manager's absence and review financial and operational performance.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to interpret operational documents and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of cash handling, inventory practices, and safety policies.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is a plus.
  • Additional language skills (e.g., bilingual Spanish) may be advantageous.

Physical & Work Environment

The role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional ladder use. It requires handling merchandise and equipment in a fast-paced setting, with some travel involved.
