About the role
The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role involves participating in recruiting, facilitating merchandise presentation, managing inventory, and ensuring store safety and cleanliness. The candidate acts as a role model, follows company policies, and helps maintain financial integrity through cash handling and cash control procedures. They review business trends, complete required documentation, and operate the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
- Participate in merchandising, inventory, and store opening/closing activities.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and proper cash handling.
- Review financial performance and address operational issues.
- Support store leadership and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 lbs.
- Use of equipment like scanners, carts, and ladders.
- Fast-paced environment with moderate noise; occasional exposure to weather.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory, and merchandising practices. Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations. Understanding of cash handling, safety policies, and legal compliance. Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Problem-solving abilities and flexibility to handle varied situations. Bilingual skills in Spanish may be preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Retail experience is advantageous.
