Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting in employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and store needs. This role aims to develop external candidates for future store management positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and employee development.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and store presentation.
• Support inventory management, including damages and markdowns.
• Ensure proper ordering to meet in-stock goals.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and act as a store role model.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and security.
• Review sales and expense data to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with at least one year of retail experience being advantageous.

Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents, perform math calculations, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory practices, and safety policies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to various situations.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Requirements

Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional ladder use. The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise, and some outside weather exposure may occur. Travel with limited overnight stays is required.
