Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role involves fostering team development, ensuring store cleanliness and safety, managing cash handling and security procedures, and analyzing sales and expense reports to identify business trends. The position serves as a temporary leader in the store's daily functions and operates in the manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Support merchandising activities, including stocking, signage, and pricing.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and conduct inventories.
• Ensure product availability aligns with sales targets.
• Deliver excellent customer service and uphold store policies.
• Participate in opening and closing store duties.
• Oversee cash security, cashier accountability, and store safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑stocked environment.
• Review financial statements to monitor business performance.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in math, cash handling, and inventory practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, safety, and security policies.
• Preferred bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish).

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience is advantageous.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast‑paced environment with exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise.
• Occasional travel for store visits and deposits.
