Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting in employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role prepares individuals for the Store Manager position through development and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and store presentation.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure in-stock levels meet targets and maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies.
• Help manage cash handling, cash register operations, and financial controls.
• Contribute to store opening and closing activities and review operational metrics.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience beneficial.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret safety and operational procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and inventory practices.
• Knowledge of retail merchandising, security, and legal compliance.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred for some locations.

Physical & Work Environment

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds. Occasional use of ladders and driving for store-related tasks. Fast-paced environment with moderate noise; some exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
