Store Manager Candidate

Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This position is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role and is held for a limited period.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandising activities, ensuring proper presentation and pricing.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Help maintain store cleanliness, safety, and security protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies.
• Assist with store opening, closing, and financial procedures, including cash handling and deposit controls.
• Review sales, labor, and inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, including safety and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety procedures.
• Effective communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is advantageous.
• Some locations may favor bilingual Spanish speakers.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing, driving, and exposure to weather conditions.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels, requiring occasional travel.
