Staffing Coordinator

Job Summary

The Float Pool at Regions Hospital is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to supplement peak census on various inpatient clinical units, clinics, and specialty centers. The role involves arranging and communicating coverage for shifts, managing absenteeism, and utilizing Microsoft Office tools.

About the Role

This role serves as a resource for nursing and leadership staff regarding staffing, scheduling, and absenteeism. It requires strong time-management, communication, and arithmetic skills to ensure proper staffing coverage.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and communicate coverage for current and upcoming shifts following established guidelines and staffing ratios.
• Serve as the point of contact for absenteeism, accepting and recording calls, notifying supervisors, and securing replacements.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Three years of clerical experience.
• Relevant health care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of business English, arithmetic, data collection, and record keeping.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain effective working relationships.
• Flexibility, patience, attention to details, confidentiality, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.
• Ability to manage time and meet scheduling deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and MyTime proficiency.
• Evening shift (1500-2330), every other weekend rotation (0.8 FTE).
