About Texas Sports Academy

Texas Sports Academy is where future champions excel in academics and athletics. Traditional schools force student-athletes to choose between excelling in academics or committing to their sport. Texas Sports Academy eliminates that tradeoff. Their innovative K-8 model, based in Austin, TX, uses AI-driven learning to accelerate academics, allowing students to master core subjects in just two hours a day. The rest of their day is dedicated to athletic training, skill-building, and personal development—so students excel in both their studies and their sport. By integrating advanced educational technology with structured sports training, they provide a unique learning experience that builds discipline, leadership, and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive daily student motivation by tracking progress, identifying obstacles, and coaching students toward defined academic and personal objectives.
  • Facilitate energetic morning sessions that establish a focused, competitive atmosphere for the school day.
  • Conduct life-skills workshops that build resilience, leadership, discipline, and accountability through storytelling, reflection, and active engagement.
  • Execute structured afternoon athletic training where drills, practice, and competition instill grit, teamwork, and excellence.
  • Leverage student performance data and daily observation to respond swiftly when a student is disengaged, stuck, or underperforming.
  • Conduct proactive 1:1 coaching sessions where your athletic discipline becomes targeted, actionable guidance.
  • Lead interactive life skill workshops that coach students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal-setting.
  • Direct structured afternoon athletic training that embodies championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and building grit and teamwork through sport.
  • Engage proactively with every student all day: moving through independent learning periods, stepping in to motivate students who are struggling, and seizing teachable moments that spark breakthrough progress.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Observing passively from the sidelines: this is an active coaching position, not ceremonial. You'll be engaged on the floor, running sessions, and intervening as situations unfold.
  • Teaching conventional academic content or delivering curriculum: students use adaptive apps for academic learning. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching meta-skills through mentorship and sport.

Requirements

  • Former elite athlete with experience at the highest level—Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans.
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills.
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX.

Benefits

  • Full health, dental, and vision benefits starting on day one.

Pay
