Starting pay range: $26.75 – $28.75 per hour. Full pay range: $26.75 – $45.50 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
A team of specialized consultants who understand what it means to meet guests where they are and deliver through strong operations, incredible guest experiences, and compelling visual merchandising. Teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics prioritize guest experience while ensuring product availability and ease of shopping—including pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
This role helps build and develop skills for a career by providing experience in:
- Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture
- Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions strategies
- Planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals
- Leading multiple departments while balancing team expertise
- Interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping experience
- Ensure team members are trained and consistently deliver on Target’s guest experience commitments and operational standards
- Observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest service moments
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on execution
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest experience, modeling and coaching team members on Target’s GUEST service model
- Plan daily/weekly workload to execute department and store sales goals, including merchandising sets, promotions, and events
- Lead and demonstrate best practices, helping close skill gaps through development and coaching
- Assign daily tasks based on workload and guest traffic patterns, aligning with business priorities
- Encourage team members to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized recommendations
- Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met
- Support execution of changes to merchandise sets and visual presentations
- Ensure product is organized, signed correctly, and merchandised to support seasonal trends
- Lead backroom processes, organization, and replenishment to ensure product availability
- Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes
- Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable
- Maintain a welcoming, clean, and safe fitting room environment (if applicable)
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, correcting hazards and reporting incidents
- Model physical security processes to enhance in-store security
- Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities during assigned shifts
- Address store emergency and compliance needs
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU) while maintaining compliance
- Perform all other duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Experience communicating on multiple frequency devices and operating handheld scanners and other technology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong workload management and prioritization skills
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
Skills
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
- Handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders as needed
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
