The starting pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour. The full pay range is $24.00 - $40.80 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role
As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you will help all families discover the joy of everyday life by delivering a strong operations, incredible guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations. This role focuses on teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics, prioritizing guest experience while ensuring product availability and ease of shopping.

Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping experience.
- Ensure team members are trained and consistently deliver on Target’s guest experience commitments and operational standards.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action, and celebrate wins.
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest service, modeling and coaching team members on expectations.
- Plan and execute daily/weekly workloads to meet department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
- Lead and demonstrate best practices, helping close skill gaps through development and coaching.
- Assign daily tasks based on workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Encourage the team to use department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized guest recommendations.
- Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
- Support team execution of changes to merchandise sets and visual presentations.
- Lead backroom processes, organization, and replenishment to ensure product availability.
- Prioritize guest experience by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming fitting rooms (if applicable).
- Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, including incident reporting and hazard correction.
- Model physical security processes to enhance in-store security culture.
- Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
- Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed.
- Address store emergency and compliance needs, including federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Experience communicating via multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong workload management and task prioritization skills.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
- Open to working a variable work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts.
- Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary.
- Full-time role, but hours may fluctuate based on business needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
Physical Requirements
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders as needed.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
