About the Role

As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, you’ll lead a team of consultants in delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing operations, merchandising, and sales goals. This role blends guest service, team leadership, and business strategy in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consistent, inspiring, and easy guest experience by training and holding team members accountable to Target’s service commitments
  • Review guest, financial, and team metrics to identify opportunities, drive results, and celebrate wins
  • Model and coach a guest-first culture, ensuring inclusivity and respect for diverse voices
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly workloads to meet sales goals, including merchandising sets, promotions, and inventory management
  • Lead and develop a team of hourly consultants, assigning tasks based on business priorities and guest traffic
  • Partner with third-party vendors to maintain brand standards and ensure areas are fully stocked and visually appealing
  • Support backroom processes, organization, and replenishment to keep the sales floor fully stocked
  • Prioritize guest experience in fitting rooms (if applicable), ensuring cleanliness and safety
  • Establish clear goals, hold team members accountable, and foster a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Model and enforce physical security processes and merchandise protection strategies
  • Occasionally assume store-level leadership duties (e.g., addressing emergencies, compliance needs, or guest services like order pickup and Drive-up)
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and team development processes

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable
  • Proficiency in using handheld scanners, frequency devices, and other technology equipment
  • Strong communication skills and a welcoming, helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Capability to interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
  • Ability to handle cash register operations as needed
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including:
    • Frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds
    • Occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
  • Capability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts (shift length may vary)

While this role is full-time, hours may fluctuate based on business needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
