About the Role
The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. This role involves performing varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments, including computations. The technician may contact physicians for prescription clarification and enter prescription orders into the system. They also ensure adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs to optimize health outcomes, which includes effective communication with patients and providers.
Responsibilities
- Dispense Specialty Rx medications.
- Perform administrative, operational, and customer support tasks.
- Conduct computations for prescription orders.
- Contact physicians for prescription clarification.
- Enter prescription orders into the system.
- Ensure adherence to Specialty Rx operational processes and programs.
- Communicate effectively with patients and providers to optimize health outcomes.
Requirements
- Active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
- Self-provided internet service meeting minimum requirements: download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps (wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested).
- Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
Qualifications
The role requires an active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state and Certified Pharmacy Technician certification. The technician should be able to work within defined parameters, prioritize tasks, and make decisions based on interpretation of area/department policies. Some latitude is given for prioritization and timing, with minimal direction provided.
Pay
The compensation range for this full-time position (40 hours per week) is $40,000 - $52,300 per year. Individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
