About the role

The Certified Pharmacy Technician supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. The Specialty Operations Certified Pharmacy Technician performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, including computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments with some latitude over prioritization and timing under minimal direction.

The role involves taking inbound phone calls from patients and providers, entering prescription orders into the system, and ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs to optimize health outcomes. This includes effective communication with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense Specialty Rx medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Take inbound calls from patients and providers.
  • Enter prescription orders into the system accurately.
  • Support pharmacists and patients by following Specialty Rx operational processes and programs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and providers to optimize health outcomes.
  • Perform computations and handle moderately complex administrative tasks.
  • Use independent discretion within defined parameters to prioritize and complete assignments.

Requirements

  • Active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of residence (Ohio, Arizona, or Florida).
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or through ExCPT.
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician OR call center experience in a pharmacy or related setting.
  • Critical thinking skills to anticipate member/customer needs and take initiative.
  • Problem-solving ability to find viable solutions with limited resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Moderate working knowledge of Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of RxNova, CRM, and/or ScriptMed.
  • Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously and strong data entry skills.

Work at Home Requirements

  • Self-provided internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps (wired cable or DSL connection suggested).
  • Work from a dedicated space free from ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
  • Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Schedule

  • An 8-hour shift, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM EST.
  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Pay

The starting base pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $40,000 - $52,300 per year. Pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
