About the role
The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. The role performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. They perform computations, contact physicians for prescriptions clarification, and support Pharmacists and Patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs.
Responsibilities
- Dispense Specialty Rx medications as directed by Pharmacists
- Compute dosages and quantities accurately
- Contact physicians for prescription clarification
- Enter prescription orders into the system
- Support Pharmacists and Patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs
- Communicate effectively with patients and providers
Requirements
- Active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT program
- Experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
Skills
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills

Pay
$40,000 - $52,300 per year
Schedule
Monday-Friday: 9 AM-5:30 PM EST or a 10 AM-6:30 PM EST
Work at Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel
While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
