Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician

Become a part of our caring community. The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 3 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. This role performs advanced administrative, operational, and customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment, primarily handling inbound member and provider calls.

Responsibilities

• Contact physicians for prescription clarification and enter prescription orders into the system.
• Support Pharmacists and Patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx-specific operational processes that benefit healthy outcomes.
• Provide education and resources for new members, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Make decisions focused on methods and processes for completing administrative tasks and projects.
• Prioritize requests by interpreting and adapting to procedures, processes, and techniques.
• Review and assess in-depth knowledge of administrative processes and organizational practices.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted State Board of Pharmacy Technician license in AZ, Ohio, or Texas without disciplinary action.
• National Certification: PTCB (CphT) or ExCPT.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a health services or pharmacy setting.
• Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to navigate multiple systems and platforms, troubleshoot, and resolve general technical difficulties in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Specialty Pharmacy experience (Oncology, Neuromuscular, Pulmonary) preferred.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred; may require taking the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM Eastern – 8:00 PM Eastern.
• Overtime coverage as needed to support business.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Work at Home Requirements

• Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay

The pay range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The range may vary based on geographic location and individual pay will depend on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.

$44,900 - $60,200 per year
