Specialty Operations Tech 2 - Pharm Ops
About the role
The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. Performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. Performs computations and typically works on semi-routine assignments.
May contact physicians for prescription clarification and may enter prescription orders into the system. Supports Pharmacists and Patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs developed to optimize health outcomes, including effective communication with patients and providers.
Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area or department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards but has some latitude over prioritization and timing, working under minimal direction. Follows standard policies and practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation, deviation, and independent discretion.
Responsibilities
- Dispense Specialty Rx medications
- Perform moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support tasks
- Perform computations related to medication preparation and dispensing
- Contact physicians for prescription clarification
- Enter prescription orders into the system
- Ensure adherence to Specialty Rx operational processes and programs to optimize health outcomes
- Communicate effectively with patients and providers
Requirements
- Active license with the Board of Pharmacy in the appropriate state
- Certified Pharmacy Technician
Work Environment
This is a remote position with the following work-at-home requirements:
- Self-provided internet service with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps (wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested)
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
- Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required
Pay
The starting base pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $40,000 - $52,300 per year. Pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
