About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse – Specialty Office provides general nursing care to patients, families, and caregivers within medical practice settings. They assist and advocate for patient health, collaborating with physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient data and record findings
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Support specialty providers during procedures
• Perform supportive care under the supervision of licensed providers
• Promote self-care and manage established care plans
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Practice safety protocols
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in ongoing education
• Respond to patient requests
• Maintain a safe environment
• Perform other assigned tasks

Qualifications

• Graduation from a practical nursing program
• Current NYS licensure as an LPN
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively within healthcare teams
