SOCIAL WORKER OR HUMAN SERVICES PROFESSIONAL III & IV-CORRECTIONS & INTAKE SVC CTR-HAWAII(WIKIWIKI)

About the role

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking Social Workers and Human Services Professionals at various levels to support their operations at Correctional Facilities and Intake Service Center on Hawaii Island.

Responsibilities

• Provide the full range of core human services work such as assessment of needs; development and implementation of service plans, which may include direct services; and monitoring, evaluating and making adjustments to service plans.
• Work with diverse types of people in various settings like hospitals, social service agencies, schools, correctional facilities, and programs concerning substance abuse, aging, and family violence.
• Utilize professional concepts, principles, and techniques regardless of the program in which they work.
• Function as fully independent workers or assist in more complex cases requiring supervision.

Requirements

• Legal Authorization to Work: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in social work from an accredited college or university.
• Specialized Experience: One to two years of relevant experience for Social Worker positions, and one and one-half to two and one-half years for Human Services Professional positions.
• Substitutions: Relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Other Requirements: Valid driver's license required for some positions, and applicants must pass a drug screening and background check.

• Applicants must be able to identify and cope with problems within their environment.
• Ability to work independently or with supervision as needed.

• Proficiency in using professional concepts and techniques.

Pay

• Starting salary ranges from $5,107 to $6,221 per month for Social Worker III, and from $5,527 to $6,728 per month for Social Worker IV.
