SOCIAL WORKER OR HUMAN SERVICES PROFESSIONAL III - OAHU

Duties

The primary duties of Social Workers and Human Services Professionals include:

• Assessment of needs and development of service plans
• Direct services such as advising/counseling and referral/coordinative services
• Monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting service plans
• Working with diverse populations in various settings
• Providing support to developmentally disabled clients
• Serving as part of a multi-disciplinary team for children with special health needs
• Overseeing child care providers, facilities, and homes
• Investigating cases of alleged child abuse or neglect

Requirements

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

• For Social Worker: A bachelor's or master's degree in social work from an accredited institution, or a doctoral degree in social work from a regionally accredited institution.
• For Human Services Professional: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours in related fields.
• Relevant work experience in helping individuals and their families identify problems, cope with conditions, and function effectively within their environments.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
• One year of specialized experience for Social Workers and one and one-half years for Human Services Professionals
• Relevant substitutions for specialized experience
