Senior Specialist - Program & Project Management
About the role
The Senior Specialist - Program & Project Management (Vulnerability Patch Management) leads and coordinates enterprise vulnerability remediation and patch management initiatives. This role ensures security updates are planned, tracked, and deployed effectively across the enterprise while minimizing operational risk and maintaining compliance with organizational policies. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with a working knowledge of infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, risk management, and IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end execution of vulnerability and patch management programs, aligning patching schedules with organizational security policies and evolving threat landscapes.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and status reporting.
- Coordinate routine, emergency, and out-of-band patch deployment activities across enterprise environments.
- Monitor project performance and ensure initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.
- Lead infrastructure-related projects spanning cloud, on-premises, network, firewall, server, and platform technologies.
- Partner with technical teams to drive remediation activities and resolve project roadblocks.
- Monitor vulnerability intelligence feeds and security advisories to identify emerging threats and required remediation actions.
- Analyze operational and business impacts associated with vulnerabilities and patch deployments.
- Communicate risks, mitigation plans, remediation status, and escalation needs to leadership and stakeholders.
- Define, monitor, and report key security vulnerability and patch management metrics.
- Track vulnerability remediation progress and patch compliance against established service level objectives.
- Prepare executive dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership.
- Support internal and external audit activities and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate pre-deployment testing, maintenance window planning, change approvals, stakeholder communications, and rollback procedures.
- Ensure adherence to change management and operational governance processes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI-driven solutions and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, accelerate remediation activities, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement of patch management processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience leading enterprise infrastructure, security, or technology initiatives.
- 2 years of experience managing enterprise IT security, vulnerability management, patch management, or infrastructure programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure projects across cloud-native, on-premises, network, firewall, server, and platform technologies.
- Working familiarity with operating systems including Windows and Linux.
- Experience supporting cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of standard vulnerability management and patch management tools and processes.
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls, infrastructure operations, and enterprise technology environments.
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and capabilities to improve work efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, support predictive analytics, reduce vulnerability risk, and enhance operational decision-making.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, identify trends and patterns, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Excellent planning, organizational, facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts in business-friendly language.
- Demonstrated commitment to security, data protection, and operational excellence.
Pay
Actual compensation within the range of $120,000–$140,000 per annum will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance, and internal equity.

Depending on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of overall compensation, such as an annual performance-based bonus, sales incentive pay, and other forms of bonus or variable compensation.
