Security Shift Supervisor - 2nd Shift

About the role

Supervise Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other personnel at client sites; ensure post orders are followed, rounds completed, reports filed; notify authorities in emergencies; coach and discipline staff; train officers; assist with payroll; ensure adequate coverage; prepare reports; inspect posts; meet with client representatives; perform supervisory duties per policy; may perform Security Officer duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts.
• Ensure post orders are followed, established rounds completed, required reports filed.
• Notify proper authorities and client in emergency situations.
• Coach and discipline personnel as appropriate; seek advice from management; meet personally with employees and document actions.
• Train Security Officers and other personnel; review post orders and assignment details with subordinates.
• Assist in submission of payroll and personnel information to the company.
• Ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions in conjunction with management.
• Prepare, file, and submit various reports as required.
• Inspect posts as scheduled and meet with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
• Meet with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that security requirements are met and to provide quality customer service.
• Perform supervisory duties including interviewing, orienting, training employees; planning, assigning, directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; making hiring and termination recommendations.
• May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accordance with post orders and company policy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail preferred.
• Driver Certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of management experience.
• Security experience required.

Skills

• Knowledge of security operations with emphasis on patrol, inspection and response services.
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
• Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance.
• Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls.
• Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
• Ability to be an effective team member.
• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
• Courteous telephone manner.
• Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures.
• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

Pay

$22.50 per hour

Schedule

Second shift, Monday – Friday
